Longy School of Music

I decided that for my Masters Degree, I was going to go to a conservatory as opposed to a university. I had the university experience at the University of Florida and it was awesome! (Go Gators!) But now I felt that I was ready for a more intimate environment and more one on one attention. Out of 3 choices, I chose Longy School of Music of Bard College in Cambridge, MA for a number of reasons.

1) Boston/Cambridge is an amazing city! Academically, it is a place where people gather internationally with Harvard, MIT, NEC, Boston University, etc. Musically, it is thriving!! So many musicians everywhere!!
2) My professor, Marco Granados is INCREDIBLE!! I have followed his videos and recordings since I was in high school! Not only an amazing teacher, but a breath taking performer. He inspires me every day to become better and better!
3) Longy has a strong chamber music focus! I LOVE CHAMBER MUSIC!!
4) There is a major orchestra in the city: Boston Symphony Orchestra! But that's not all! There are actually many orchestras here!! ^_^ <3 Wonderful!

I have played with LCO for a year now. It is a fun orchestra because I know most of the players, being a small school and the conductor, Maestro Julian Pellicano is wonderful! He constantly throws challenging and good music to us, from Bartok Concerto for Orchestra to Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet... It has been a pleasure to work within this group!

One day... I will actually hang these up... lol
I drew them in hopes of adding more art to our bare walls at my apartment but they have yet to make their way up!! >.< Baby steps... hehe
